Salt Values
I'm interested in making a list of Salt chemistry values since we are getting close to the sale season at various retailers. I plan on buying enough salt for the year and I know the value range I'm interested in, but not sure if there is a better salt out there than the one I'm using now :D (I'm sure others would love this info)
So, what am I asking for? Well, here is the information I'm looking for: I mixed up my salt like: Salt: Seachem ReefSalt (Batch 12257) Water: RO/DI, tested to 0ppm Salinity: 35 PPT (calibrated with same temperature solution immediately before) Temp: 19 Degrees C Testing Results: Alkalinity: 8.8 dKH (Red Sea Lot 362) Calcium: ~510 ppm (Red Sea Lot 372) Magnesium: 1460 ppm (Red Sea Lot 582) Please share your salt information! (as detailed as possible, like above) Thanks! Craig |
Doesn't matter! Everyone's gonna buy IO/RC
I will be mixing h2ocean tonight so will post my results :) |

Thanks Harvey, my concern with that is that it is old and maybe not localized to the batches we have on the market in Canada right now.
Very good information nonetheless for people who haven't read through it. |
Bump? Anyone doing water changes? :D

I don't test my new water anymore, I switched to RC I am scared to test some values might shock me and make me switch to an expensive salt. Good thing I only do small water changes.

I test new water when I get a new batch of salt. Other than that I just check conductivity to make sure my formula is still right.
