Is that sympodium? Looks like it to me.

No sir definitely not that. I have a small piece of it.
This coral is a hard coral I would post a video if I could figure that out.

It's definitely Hydnophora I was the yesterday nice coral.

Very strange growth pattern.

Our hydnophora is branching like an acro.

we get encrusting and branching hydnos all the time , curious though what makes it rare ??
