Windows 8
 

Well, finally came time to buy a new laptop after my wife spilt coffee on mine (don't tell her I said that, I told her it was my fault)

Just looking to get opinions on windows 8

All I do on my laptop is watch movies, download stuff and brows the web (mainly canreef)

Ok just booted it up, don't like it.....

Nvm figure it out, I guess it's not that bad

I had windows 8 on my laptop for 2 months finally got so mad at its user unfriendliness that I got windows 7 put on the laptop. As far as I am concerned Microsoft made a big misstep with windows 8. The only reason I don't buy an apple is some of my online games will not play very well with Mac

Yeah windows 8 takes some getting used to. I'm still not used to it and I'm also thinking of going back to 7

install classic shell onto it to bring back the start menu. windows 8.1 will add it back in...but until then classic shell is the only other option if you dont like their modern UI "metro" once you install classic shell, it'll bring it back to win7 usability but you gain the win8 speed of boot and resource management.

Sweet, that'll make it 1000x better

Watch for dropped wireless problems , ive been fighting with windows 8 a lot , had the completely delete a registry entry and update a bunch of drivers manualy to fix it .

I hate windows 8. A lot.

I agree, and also hate W7

I'm still using XP Pro on every computer I control and am very happy with them
