Frag tank/ qt build
I have been wanting needing a frag tank / quarantine tank. So now is the time I get it done.
I am designing it to be an all in one system in order to reduce the need for sump. This way if it's not in use I can tuck it away easy enough without too much if a dismantle process. The tank: water home 32g (acquired from abandoned rental property) Pump: maxi jet 1200 Lighting: undetermined for now factory hood Frag racks: either egg crate or custom acrylic design http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...91F474BA58.jpg Ideally I'd love to add the filtration to the back of the tank but I'm fairly positive the tank is tempered glass so it will have to do for now This is the rough draw for the design sorry about the cell phone pics of pc screen I got lazy http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...ACA773534F.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...A01B873422.jpg |

Won't be seen anyways after acrylic is in place... Next step acrylic overflow and paint overflow area. plumbing then water test and design stand |
Couldn't find black acrylic today so white it is which is ok got the plumbing hooked up as well so water test tonight

Look at you just building things left, right and centre, nice work!
I was thinking of doing something similar. Now I have something to copy, thanks! |
That is pretty sweet

I have a habit of building what I need lol or want my other build threads are proof of that
By all means copy away still have to build the filtration basket out of acrylic |
Last update until i decide to build the stand
A couple issues I have to address Overflow teeth too narrow water level too high in display. Outlet for return leaks a bit. Water level drops to much in display drilled it a bit too low. Other than that no leaks of great importance Last few pics http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...558700CDDC.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...C2F6ED13A0.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...264613CFF7.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...548768CFBA.jpg http://i998.photobucket.com/albums/a...7A95A2DE42.jpg |
I wussed out on the stand this time and had Martha make it for me. By the time I built it it would have cost me more than this bench. And when not in use as a stand it will be a bench lol... Will fill with water next water change
