Hey a friend of mine has a domino damsiel fish and he sleeps in an anemone.

I thought that the fish would be stung? Has anyone heard of this before?

Thanks

Ben,

Clownfish are actually members of the DAMSELFISH species.

Does that help? ;)

Not weird at all. Anemonefish are pomacentrids, damselfish. Other than anemonefish (subfamily Amphiprioninae) the other damselfish that sometimes associate with anemones are Dascyllus trimaculatus and D. albisella. According to my books Dascyllus trimaculatus associates naturally with Entacmaea quadricolor, Heteractis aurora, H. crispa, H. magnifica, Macrodactyla doreensis, Stichodactyla gigantea, S. haddoni, and S. mertensii (in short, all of the hosting species except for Cryptodendrum adhaesivum and Heteractis malu (Ref: Fautin & Allen). I beleive that typically these fish associate with anemones as juveniles, and gradually wean themselves as they mature.
