Canopy/Stand Exhaust Fan?

Hey,

I have just skinned by stand with maple 3/4 and it will be held together via rare earth magnets. However with it almost being a completely closed box I want to exhaust the humidity out one of the sides.

Want type of fans have you guys used for this? I know basic computer fans but they're all 3/4 pin connectors and I don't feel comfortable converting to USB and having it in a closed box connected to a wall socket. Just makes me feel like its a disaster waiting to happen.

It doesn't have to be huge 12'' I would think is way way way over kill. I would think that a 200mm fan would be more then enough.

Anyways I would like to hear what others have done for venting on there canopies and stands.

Thanks.

If you just type "Fan" into the search box on JL, you will have several options come up for your consideration.

Haha yeah, thanks for the reply I was looking for a fan someone is currently using and judging from there if it works or they find it doesn't and they need more fans.

I guess I should have been more specific in my reply.

I ran two 120mm computer fans from one end pulling in to the other pushing out. Worked well for me on my 75g with 2 250w and 4 t5s.

How did you power them? That is the main question because most computer fans are 3-4 pin connectors?

I used a 12volt wall wart that was on the same timer as my lights. So I only ran the fans when the halides were on in the winter. All day long in the summer.

Ive used the cheaper axial fans from JL...
I actually have one running right now that Ive probably been using on and off for 6, maybe even 7 years.

Awesome bang for buck.

Explain, do you mind linking me what you used. Are 12V adapters have the circular input plug like a laptop charger how did you get it to power a 3-4pin plug?
