All clowns will fight, but if they are fighting for an extended time it is because one will not submit to the other.

Bring one back, we'll replace it for a smaller one. Unless you have grown atteched to them, we can sell you 2. :)

Ok so now I wonder... Is there any connection between lunar cycles and clowns?

They only seem to fight while my dusk/dawn cycle is on. AKA blue light.

I noticed as soon as my full spectrum shut off and only the actinic were on that they started to fight.

I turned the full spectrum back on and they stopped. I switched them back off and pow! Fight began.

I played with the spectrum for ten minutes and eventuslly I was stopping the fight a split second before they went at it. Literally. The charging fish would divert as act normal under full. Then snap when it was blue only.

Any input?

Did the Vivid Fancy come in yet? I saw your post about clowns. But never saw them.

And what I find weird is today the are sharing the clay pot. But civility ends with the lights.

Sigh.

Someone suggested I had two females, but would two females share the same home at all??

Reminds me when I introduced new butterfly fish into my DT where I have a dastardly nasty yellow tang. Initially, he went after them all the time. But eventually he left them alone. However, I noticed that when the lights subsided to the dusk/dawn level, he would again bother them for a while. Now, a couple years later, he will still occasionally do a lunge or attempted tail slap at them when the lights dim down in the evening. So yes, dusk/dawn light does seem to bring out aggression in some fish.

What is the chance both went female? Someone suggested it, but how long could two females live together?

Did the vivids come in?

we had some come in.

Doubt they are both females, as they were juveniles when you got them.

It's just one is not submitting to the other, just happends

Sorry to confirm... Your list mentioned fancy OC... Which are different from the Vivid Fancies.

Vivids are very very bright orange. The fancy are more classic OC orange.
