Natural Seawater?

Hey Guys please forgive my ignorance as this may be a very stupid question... We are looking to move to Vancouver Island in the near future and I'm just wondering if it's viable to collect seawater for use in our aquariums? I understand this is far from tropical waters but I thought I might see if anyone has measured parameters or may be using sea water

Not at all recommend. Its full of crap like oil and it's cloudy as hell.

If you live right on the water and could pump the water it might work. I'm a block away and water quality was not the problem. The novelty wore off after a few times of trying to fill up small containers, walk up to the car to fill a larger container and then drive home without loosing half your water as it sloshes around. Then repeat when you are moving the water into your tank.

It wash much easier to mix up my own water.
