Remora Pre-Filter

Is anybody running a remora pre-filter on thier setup? I am thinking of possible purchasing one, but can seem to find much info on it, other then it helps skim the surface. Couldn't I hook up a surface skimmer to the maxi-jet instead?

Thx

I bought one, but never got around to installing it though.
(It's still just sitting here.)

I believe it is called a 'pre-skimmer', it is for surface skimming not for mechanical filtration. It also has a return box with a piece of foam for reducing bubbles.

But is it worth it?

The fuval surface skimmer can probably hook up to the maxi-jet and is 30$ cheaper.

Gary are you going to try yours out?
