Cleaning starphire glass

My new tank has Starphire front panel. What is the best thing to use for cleaning the glass? Are the standard magfloats ok?

standard magfloats are never okay...lol

Honestly, go pony up for a good quality glass cleaner since you've already spent the money on Starfire.

I use this and havent had a scratch yet....

used Magfloats for about 5 years on mine and zero scratches due to them. On the outside I just grab a couple of face-clothes from the bathroom, dampen one, wipe, then dry with the other.

rodi water cleans the outside perfect! then you dont get any contaminating cleaners near your tank which could be bad news

vinegar and water works well on the outside of course...

I use Mag Floats on my starphire with no problem. Just be careful when cleaning near the bottom not to pick up some sand or other grit which could scratch.

Thanks for all the input!

I prefer the Algae Free brand as well over mag floats, they are stronger and work better plus have replaceable pads which I believe is key. But either way starphire can be treated like regular glass, it just costs more and it's a little softer so you'll want to be a little more careful but typically if something scratches starphire it probably would have scratched regular float as well.

Mag Float used here as well, no problems.

I just cleaned my starphire for the first time last night, I didnt want to scratch it too but only had an old mag float. I wraped it on the inside with some filter floss and a clean cloth on the outside. worked perfect and i'll continue to use it this way in the future.
