WTB: 500W Titanium Heaters and Ranco Controller

BRS carries Finnex Delux Titanium Heating Tubes (300W, 500W and 800W) - Here.

I've heard mixed reviews about these heaters. I guess for $40 I'll just buy a spare and if one dies, it should be no big deal. Can anyone suggest a better brand?

I think I'm planning to run the heating tubes directly from the Apex Controller w/ EB8, but lot's of people recommend the Ranco controllers. I wouldn't mind checking out the price on these units.

Where can you order these from?

Thanks!

- Brad

I love the one I have. Took a couple minutes to get it calibrated. Haven't touched it since I put it in the sump. Magnets hold it in place, it comes with a cover to keep animals/critters off it.

How come? Are there issues with the Apex temp control, or is it the wattage draw off the EB8?
