Thoughts on reef octopus 150nwb

I have a 75 galon with 20 gal sump I probably have 85 or 90 galons of watter 5 fish now more in the future medium stocked would this be a good skimmer? Realy don't know alot about Skimmers so any help would be great
Seems like it would be good for the size tank with bio load more looking for reviews is this a good skimmer?

You have the exact same setup as me and i have been running the NWB for the last 2 years and its great. Pulls out gunk and runs great. I would reccommend!

I use this skimmer and is great, the downfall is the noise from where the water came out, reef octopus sell a piece that's about 60 $ so you better add the extra money, also the instruction on the box are wrong , the skimmer work best at 6-8" water dept, so I use egg crate to raise the skimmer, in a 20 gallon sump fits perfect but doesn't leave much room around, I wish at the time I spent a bit extra money and got the space saver one, about the same skimmer but smaller foot print....

I've been running this skimmer on a 120 gallon and have no complaints. I did upgrade to the aquatrance pump though. As far as the water sound I just drilled some holes in a street 90 and put a rubber band around it to fit into the metric connection. Google the mod, there's a ton of different ways to quiet it down. Still pretty good skimmer for the price

I had that same skimmer for a couple of years and the pump it had on it was a little noisy for me.

You can easily overcome the splashing noise from the outlet with $3 worth of plumbing parts from home depot. I did and it worked great. You just need a tee, and a few short lengths of pvc. I may still have it laying around if anybody wants it?

The skimmer does work very well though. I had it on a 75 gallon with about a 20 gallon sump volume also.

The skimmer work good, but the noises from the pump is too loud for me, there is any cheaper solution then upgrading the pump?

I had the NWB-150 on a similar setup, 8+ fish and it did the job but had a wide neck and the head often dropped out. Its a beast and you could easily put it on a 120 gallon and it would run great. So I got a Vertex Omega 130 and it pulls black skimmate out all day long, way better rated for the bio-load and tank size. Plus it's a lot quieter.
