Algae ID

Can anyone help me out with an ID on this. The color is pretty much bang on, and its been growing layered clumps like this in a couple of places.

Pretty until it takes over and smothers everything! I used to take baseball clumps of that stuff out monthly. Now I have a Blonde Naso that grazes on it.

you know of anything else that may eat this stuff? the tank is too small for a tang.

what about a sea hare?

I can't say that I know of any other predators other than the Naso Tang.. sorry. Maybe try googling "dictyota algae predators"

Dictyota. Doug (fishytime) used a Naso tang to eat it, if I remember correctly the Naso did a good job. However, Nasos grow very large, and quite quickly too.. Not something you could put in a 34g Solana. I haven't heard of anything else that eats it to any sort of reliability. Best bet is manual removal with pumps off (so bits don't float away), and lowering of nutrients. It "should" go away on its own.
