how do you apply a pic to your own avatar?

as the title says.

Click on user CP toward the top left of the screen. Then on the left in the column under "settings and options" click "edit avatar".

You can then either upload a photo from your computer or link to one on the internet. If you upload a photo make sure it is less than 150 x150 pixels or 30kb

still having issues, I dont know how to compress images.

The Grizz 04-05-2012 03:11 AM

I use photo bucket to resize pics to the proper size.

I don't get it.

on your computer, hit start - > programs -> accessories -> paint.

click on file -> open and select your photo from the appropriate folder

click on image ->stretch/skew enter in 50% for horizontal and vertical, click ok.

In windows explorer go to the folder location of your photo and check the size of it. When you get to 30kb you win. Upload it to canreef.

Alternatively send it to me at seamonkey68 at gmail.com and I'll just do it for you.

Thx for the help Greg & Christy. We have a mac. I managed to resize the image last night on photo-bucket, but then it looked kinda crappy. I'll give it another look this eve & see what I can figure out. I just don't get it why its seems to be such a different process than just posting a regular pic. It keeps saying invalid url or something I cant remember exactly what it said, but it was something like that.

The Grizz 04-06-2012 01:10 AM

After you resize the pic, download it to your computer & up load direct. I had trouble with the invalid URL thing too.
