Hard to tell because I have multiple nutrient sinks going on, I have always used them and regardless if they work I love the look .

Just to spice things up here are some recent top downs:

UNREAl zoa collection... very envious.

christyf5 04-09-2012 08:59 PM

Great pics Levi, you've got quite the candy store there

Just a question about your nighttime water column saturation method. You haven't ever had any oxygenation problems with the corals sliming/reduction of flow/no skimmer combination? Just wondering as I accidentally had my skimmer and return pump off overnight once and lost my bellus angel from what I assumed to be low oxygen. Could be that they're just overly sensitive as I've heard angelfish can be. I'm intrigued to try your method but it kind of scares the bejeezus out of me and I'd likely have the pumps come on after only an hour or two.

Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this

No losses thus far, I agree though if your hesitant to do it start really slow.

That being said all of the tanks I have done this with have had a fair amount of surface area so it has never really been a problem. Make sure you keep your return pump on though, don't want a temperature drop. It would be nice to get an O2 probe running and take some measurements, I might pick one up the next time I'm at the LFS.

Thanks again for all the shout outs everyone !

Thanks Mindy! I'm excited to see how your 50g turns out, should be a little easier to deal pest algae and keep everything stable for the little guys.
