New titanium heaters

So I picked up a couple new titanium heaters.

These have external sensors and controller. Just wondering if I should use the same as my old ehiem tgat were hooked up to neptune controller. I'm just not sure if the digital controller on heater would be affected when the Neptune kills the power to them

I wouldn't use the controller inline with the Apex. Just plug the heaters into the EB8 as normal and you should be good to go. Looks like the remote sensor transmits to the controller but since it isn't in use, it won't be transmitting to anything.

The heaters are hard wired into the controller. I have then plugged into the Pb and power is currently disabled as halide warms the tank during day. Just hoping the temp controller holds its setting when power comes back on

Ahhhh.....I wouldn't even have the Apex control them then. Just plug them in if you are going to trust the built in controller.

Thanks I still plugged them in to the Neptune just set the temp 2 degree higher than heater itself.

These heaters default to 79c when the power is restored when using the on board controller & temp probe, why not just use the controller & temp probe that comes with the heater?
I have 2 in my sump and the controllers work very well for me.

If they fail on, have the safety of the Apex to kill the power to them, no brainier. Redundancy, and fail safes are the way to go.

My thoughts also

Thanks I was wondering of the default bit figured it out buy unplugging a couple times. But I do want the added security of the Apex. Even the best heaters can fail

Along that thinking tho, so can the controller outlet. I just had to move my heater off an outlet that sticks on.
