LED Dimming

I see a lot of the cheaper LED fixtures do not come with a built in dimmer switch but usually has seperate cords for the blue and white LED's. Has anyone tried running them through a household dimmer switch? Any particular reason this would or would not work?

I think its because LEDs use DC current. There is a driver/power supply in the fixture that converts AC power and outputs the correct current.

there are dimmable led BULBS that will work off of a standard dimmer household dimmer switch. Orphek makes one and i believe LEDWholesellers carries a line as well.
