ID please. Spotted slug thing. Video

Hey all,

Could someone help me ID this guy? I have no idea what it is. Is it safe for my tank?

I have included 2 photos and a video below.

Thanks.

Cool, can I put it in my sump? I dig the weird stuff. Probably some sort of spotted flatworm which likely feeds on small invertebrates. Anyone else?

Yes it is a type of flatworm that eats snails, etc. I have had some experience with these things & I recommend you remove it from your system completely if you can. They can be hard to grab - super slimy & they tear very easily.

i removed the strainer from my overflow once and one of those was on it. gave my hand a nice rash for a couple days.

It looks like a polyclad flatworm. It eats snails and clams.

I haven't seen this guy since I first posted this. Any suggestion on how lure him out?

Should I wait to remove him before putting in turbo snails and hermit crabs?

I would wait till you catch him.
Lure it out with a baited trap. I guess you could always buy the cheapest snail and put that in the trap.
You have not seen it, maybe it likes night time?

Yea I have only seen him once in my life. I just put a piece of raw scallop in the tank as bait. However, I am not sure if they like scallop (still a shell fish).

No sight of him so far.
