Need help id'ing

I again turn to the experts.

For the past couple of days I have been proudly thinking that I am starting to develop coraline algae on my base rock rock. Purpleish spots have begun to appear on some spots on the rock which had me convinced.

Uhh not so fast newbie.

Today I noticed that one of the more advanced spots is actually looking fuzzy, so that's not the kind of algae I want, I'm guessing.

Question is, what is it? Cyanobacteria? It does not appear anywhere in the sand bed, just on the tops of several rocks. This particular spot, which it seems more advanced, and therefore has become "fuzzy", is actually in a lower flow area in the corner of the aquarium.

Help!

Can you post a clearer pic ?

Yes, thanks for responding. Two pics here. The first is the "fuzzy" area of concern. The second pic, to me anyway, perhaps appears to be a mix of green and purple coraline.

What concerns me is that the purple in the first pic matches that in the second. Which means if it's cyano, I'm starting to get it all over my tank :(

Thanks in advance!

The purple/pink may be sponge. There are also some algaes that look almost like mushrooms - slimy and such
A clear pic in the water would be great, but someone else may recognize it now

Could be green coralline ( lucky you ), but it could also be the beginnings of turf or hair algae
Again, too hard for me to tell out of the water

I had the turf start on my base rock. I believe there's lots of phosphates in most dry rock
Don't fret it, it's all part of the maturing process

Thanks Greg. If the green is the start of hair / turf, I'm going to have it all over my tank soon!

I installed a GFO reactor a couple of days ago. Hopefully that helps.

Looks a little like Cyano Bacteria or cotton candy Algae.

Cyano in a new tank is to be expected, it is normal and well come and go for at least the first year.
