store prices

Hey, I just went to my first fish store in quite a while to have a look around. I noticed at this particular store they had no prices on their SW fish only on the FW. I don't know why they do this other than to charge more if they feel like it that day. Is there any lfs in Calgary that reliably price their fish on the glass for customers to view without asking? Just a pet peeve of mine.

Golds Aquariums-No
Red Coral Aquariums-No
Wais Aquariums-No
Ocean Creations-No

Big Al's- Yes
Picies- Yes
Riverfront-Yes

Not a pet peeve @ all for me, gives me a better footing to haggle if anything.

Just assume its free if there's no price :)

Well I guess I will have to go back to bringing in a J&L price list to compare and mail order if no one is willing to come close.

Remember most local stores will only match other local store prices unless they also have an internet presence.

Not really fair to ask a local store to match an internet price if they don't sell on the internet.

Cheers,
Vic

I don't ask them to match I ask them to come close. If I can have it shipped to my door for cheaper than their price then their prices are too high. :-)

the worst is when a store doesnt even put the type of fish... and when you ask them, they dont know

I think its a habit most of us have from dealing with the stores which don't label anything...
