Neptune Ph probe problems

Does anyone else have issues with theirs. I have a hard time getting it to calibrate, then when I do it only lasts for a couple days, then it is different that the Pinpoint reader that is hooked up to the cal reactor. Yes the cal reactor will measure less because of the Co2, but when the co2 has been off because of the Neptune controller shutting it off, the Pinpoint reads higher than the Neptune. It keeps the cal reactor shut off too much. I came home today for example, the tank read 7.98(neptune) the cal reactor read 8.15(pinpoint) i moved the neptune and shook it a bit, it then went up to 8.03.

Hold old is the probe? You're supposed to replace them annually. Drifting readings is usually a sign that it's time to change it out.

Brand new 1.5 months ago

Is it floated in the tank or resting on bottom... I have mine floated with a 2"x2" piece of styrofoam with a hole in it inside the sump... maybe you have a dud...

Just kind of hangs off the back of the sump. Should I not do this?

I think that's fine, just as long as it doesn't touch bottom as detritus build up pretty quickly. Maybe you did end up with a dud? Any chance of a return/exchange since it's new?

I will try to return it. Thanks everyone

Shut off all you pumps and stuff in the sump and try again. Even a tiny bit of stray voltage can make a pH probe act funny.

Stray Voltage????

Bought a new "Generic" probe. The Neptune probe was reading the tank at 7.94, calibrated the new one and it is reading the tank @ 8.21 and it is stable !!!!!!!! The cal reactor is finally turned on!!!!!!!!! Stupid probe. It is amazing how much stress a probe can cause. I couldn't figure out why the Ph was low and everything else was normal. Again STUPID PROBE, Stupid electronics, but boy I love them when they work HAHAHAHAHA.
