Selling and trading is definitely a fun part of the hobby. Helping people be successful and creating a place where like minded people can share and grow is the goal we aim for. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

As someone who doesn't have face book, I'd sure love to see a return to the good old days on here.

Seems like a real ghost town now compared to 5-10 years ago.

Hope to see a turn around for the economy in Alberta, really miss those boys out there. Used to be huge contributors to this forum.

The good old days were great, we can do it again!

I joined in 2012 and this was an active forum until about 2016 and it slowly faded

Some of it had to do with the long time members stepping back as they were the driving force on the forum for many years

A big part of it is social media Twitter, FB, Instagram and so on but as people are finding out social media is not very descriptive and lots of misleading information out there and are slowly gravitating back to forum pages

Another part is people who lurk they love to read and learn but rarely if ever post for many reasons. Somebody figured out that on average for every person who posts there are 6 people who lurk.

Lastly I belong to 17 different actual forums for the hobby I am active on 7 of them moderate 2 and 5 are no longer active and 3 I mostly lurk on as people rarely post on those three. On the flip side I only belong to 5 FB groups and an active on 4 of them

I would love to see Canreef take off again. My family is supportive but meh about the hobby and it's great to have a place to share the interest. Facebook has a lot of handy conveniences (like posting pics) but ultimately it is not substantive. Everything is there for like 5 mins, and then becomes irrelevant. Some of the best info I've found as someone new to the hobby has come from reading build threads, older posts etc. Nothing better than reading people's experiences over a longer period of time as results bear out various methodologies. I always get disappointed when someone tries something and then they disappear - I'm like, so what happened? lol

Will a platform software upgrade be taking place?
