Curious about a couple things

If you open a bag of live sand and only use half can you store the rest somehow without it dying?
How do you rinse #0 sand? (obviously not live)
What do you feed your anemones, I'd like to hear about all species?

Sand clean up crew

Also what are the best sand cleaning critters you can get that are reef friendly?

The only thing "live" about "live" sand is the little packet of bacteria.

Bad sand cleaning critters hands down are Tiger Tail Cucumbers. They even split, so you buy one and soon you will have a few.

I also like Conchs. Lots of them. I have 7 in my 70-gal.

As Mindy said sea cucumbers are great sand sifters I have tiger tails in my tank and they do a great job and can reproduce asexually I e gone from as little as one in my tank to as many as eight they ebb and flow with food demand

Snails certain species are sand burrowers and do a good job of turning over the sand however it should be noted if you have hermit crabs you will lose a certain amount of snails to the hermits as they are buggers

Sand sifting gobies are also great at sifting sand but come with a caveat all your rockwork should lay on the bottom of the tank as the gobies are known to make caves under rock and can collapse rocks on themselves

Thanks I never thought of cucumbers! Those would be perfect
