Placement of LPS
 

Where should LPS corals be? Sand bed? I have an open brain, acans, etc and im never sure where to put them. E.G. do they need rock to grow over?

open brains do better in the sand IME but I like acans to be on rock to prevent them from being buried, however if that's not an issue they will do well in sand as well. Neither require rock to grow onto, they build their own skeletons just like SPS, they just have larger polyps, hence the name.

Choice. Though a open brain IMO would be better as they can become very big when polyp is out. I keep acans on rubble. But that's only because I glue multiple frags to one piece making a multi color rock

whats the downside of placing acans right next to each other
or blastos right next to each other?

nothin acan lords are fine together. blastos should be good to
