strange behavior

my little one spot foxface is cuddling up to my huge volitan lionfish like a moth to a flame , has anyone else seen this type of behavior?

No, but I hope it's cuddling up to the tail end.

right about the middle he rubs up against the lions dorsal spikes at the side of course very neat to see and absolutely no agression

Sounds like the safest place to be, right tight to the side.

you figure the lion is protecting it?

Some what. The lion fish eat what it see. It can't see back alone his sides. Kind of like blind spots of a car. Which make it the best hiding spot in the tank. Survival

it has no reason to hide from the lionfish they have been face to face quite a bit and no agression is shown

hes always been with other fish in the other tank he was the biggest and now hes the smallest maybe hes staying close untill he becomes use to not being the biggest anymore, glad hes out and about though and taking to the other fish:) hes a cool little guy very active :)

ALBERTA REEF 06-05-2010 06:33 PM

So he is a newbie to the tank. Survivor enstangs until he gets use to the new tank.
