Bought a new 20g Long to replace my current 20g High. Want to get 3 holes (2 for herbie, 1 for return) drilled for a sump but the local glass shops are charging $20 per hole. Does anyone know anywhere that will drill for less or has the tools and would like to help me out?

$20 bucks a hole is expensive on the west coast!

Now being serious, any worth in buying a hole saw...dyi and then charge $5 a person who might need the same help?

That was going to be my last resort. I don't mind DIY, I just prefer someone with experience to do it/guide me through it to minimize the risk of breakage.

Most places I know of charge 30$ a hole but with them you get a much nicer hole with no blowout, the drill alone to do it properly is 600$ to buy unless you want to do it by hand

What I do is drill a hole in a piece of plywood just big enough to let the glass hole saw pass thru and sized so it can't wander then I clamp that board on the side of glass I can access and another on the other side without a hole (just for backing so no blowout) fill the hole in the plywood with water and drill away using nice even pressure and don't spin the drill to fast never any blowout and have been successful 100% of the time I do this with mirrors when we install them around taps in houses also no problems so far knock on wood :)
