Duncan help

I took a toothbrush to my Duncan today to clear out some of the algae that's been growing between the heads. As you can see in the pic below there's still some left.

My question is regarding the dead heads. Will the flesh from the soft tissue grow into the head and create a new head?

If there is abit of flesh left it can be rescued and grow back, you need to feed them atleast once a week and it will take work but they will come back. Also need to keep the algae off the skeleton.

It doesn't look like there's flesh left on the dead heads, they look empty. There are lots of heads in total still. Will they grow into the dead head?
I'm going to brush the Duncan's teeth as my little guy says every couple days to try and remove all the algae.

In theory the heads should heal themselves if not too pee'd off. In other words, feeders may start to emerge from the middle of those heads and go from there.
Can the Duncan be removed from the tank for a better algae treatment? Toothbrush isn't the best way to go IMO
