Martin's 10G Long Gallon Nano

Hey all,

Just wanted to share a video I made of my tank.

It's a 10 gallon nano. Around 16 lbs of live rocks for filtration. That's about it!!

Very beautiful tanks, are you running CO2 in those fresh water tanks?

Love the shrimp one, I have a friend whom lives in Vancouver and would just be drooling over that tank she has been having so many issues with hers all her shrimp died but she also has Cherry Barbs so don't know if they had a nice snack on them or they actually died, she needs to talk to you.

What do you have to keep the glass so clean? Any Plecos?

Thanks Bugsy!

I am only using Co2 in the 30 gallon tank. For the rest of my tanks I use Excel liquid Co2.

IMO it's best to keep fresh water shrimp on their own. They are perfect snacks for most fish.

I don't have any plecos. I only have a few otos to keep my glass clean. I find that with the correct Co2 to light ratio you won't get much algae.

Beautiful tank! Would you mind listing all the equipment and such you have running?

Mahawka 03-31-2014 04:18 AM

Thanks Likwid.

I am using...
-Hydor 425 nano powerhead
-Current USA Orbit Marine LED Light Fixture (24-36 Inch)
-Jager100w heater

well that's about it. I use a RODI water filter.
I do weekly 10% water change.

Do you get a lot of evaporation with that lighting fixture on there or do you have an auto top-off system? Also, dumb question, where do you buy a plain old 10g tank? Do stores like PetSmart sell them?

Mahawka 03-31-2014 03:57 PM

I get crazy evaporation. I have to do about a cup of fresh water top off daily. I really don't get much heat from my light fixture.

Well yes you can buy a plain old 10 gallon from any pet store. Mine was custom made with starphire glass and very unique dimensions. (30x10x9) It's super rare to find a 10 gallon long tank at your local fish store.
