Aquascape Sharing RSM c250

Hi Everyone,

Very very slowly preparing for a swap from my Nano Cube 28g to a RSM C-250. I wanted to show off my Aquascape that's I've been noodling with for almost a month now. I did a 3D scan with my iPad and a few pics.

BRS mentioned sharing aquascapes and pics were hard to visualize so I wanted to try to capture in 3D. I'm using an iPad Pro to scan it in 3D. The major difference is I just swap the left and right structures.

Anyways, thought this was fun and wanted to share.

Realized

One thing I realized after a few iterations was to account for 2-3" of sand. I ended raising everything up a few times because of that.

Wow thats cool man.

Aesthetically, B has a nicer flow to it.

Now let's get that tank wet!

I kept changing between version A and B so many times that a few pieces came apart suddenly.

The good news was that I was able to improve it further after the accident. I added a bunch of small caves, nooks and tunnels. I strive for healthy bio diversity with copepods and bristleworms. I also lost one leg of the structure on the left but is stable without it. Rather than reattach it I figured this should allow room for additional islands.

I really like Zoa, GSP, Xenia ect and this will be mostly a softie and LPS tank so islands will likely be a big help. I will need to get the islands higher up off the sand because the sand sifting goby is relentless.

I suspect it will take about 4 - 6 more weeks before I can get the RSM c250 moved and setup upstairs. To keep things moving I just setup a 30g downstairs and the rock is soaking now with a pump for a few days. I'll replace most of the water every day for 2-3 days. I'll then add the salt water and start the rock cycling.

Picked up some Fritz PRO - Ammonium Chloride and Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter7

Thanks for the support and advice!

Would love some thoughts and feedback if this is understandable.

I like the left of A and the right of B. Just remember you don't want anything too close to the sides. That gives your corals room to grow and fill the space without you swearing when you have to clean the glass.

Thanks for the advice, I think I've accounted for at least 2-3" from the glass on each side except the back glass. I am hoping all my measurements remain accurate once I get it in the tank.

Rock is still cycling in a 30g tank downstairs.

Update on progress

Just a place to capture some of the progress.

Two weeks ago moved the Nano Cube 28g out of the way and did some rearranging in the home office.

Last week finally got the RSM C-250 from the garage and up into the home office.

Setting up some equipment
Inkbird Temp Probe
2 x AI Sol Blu (I will add the Kessil 360aw from the Nano Cube later in the middle)
Installed a Tunze 9004 Skimmer
Aquatop SP7-UV
Jebao RW-20 Wave Maker (I think I want to replace this with something with a smaller footprint)

Starting to organize the wiring and hook everything up now.

Noticed it wasn't exactly level and it is on a leveling mat but ordered shims anyways which arrive on wed.

Ordered 2 AI Nero 30s to replace the Jebao RW-20.

Anyone have feedback on placement. Should they be on either side or should I place them on the back and facing the front.

At the back will ensure they aren't a noticeable.
