Mag anemone
Magnifica anemone is what i am interested in.Thanks anyway
|
Harder to find for sure. I have had mine for 3 years now, unlike the BTA, it seems to not split. I love mine though, it has settled in and doesn’t walk all over my tank.

Mag anemone
Lucky you.Nothing here in Vancouver.Sometimes i wish to move to Toronto.
|
They are in Vancouver.
Problem is, what are you willing to pay. It’s like I’ve been keeping this anemone for 12 years for what? To sell you at market value? Not going to happen...
12 YEARS! Thinks about it.... |
Magnifica.
Do i know you my friend?Did i personally offended you by posting add here?Canada Corals have them for $109.00.Is that huge money for you?
|
No not huge money and shipping is reasonable. Keeping it healthy up to a month then live past a year is the real test. Seeing if you can get it to stay alive beyond 200+ppm nitrate and heavy phosphate is a monumental task. Happy to see that there is success keeping them here, unfortunately most don’t make it, my impression is that they are not well understood. Shame really.
Anyone buy one from Canada Corals? |
Who keeps a tank at +200 ppm nitrate?
|
Magnifica.
Not me.My tank is 2 years old and in good shape.I have feel that i am accused for wish to have one of this beautiful animals.I think he guarantee that i will kill it.Wonder how many he kill before started to have success. But i have contacts with OrionN from reef2reef who is expert on this field. Didn't decide to take this anemone just like that.
|

Mines doing awesome.
Its now hosting my son & daughters pair of clowns. This isnt a new nem though. My buddy had it for about a decade. I've had it nearly a year. And its proven to be super resilient. I had a lighting mishap which led to a green tank. Which in turn caused the nem to bleach out. Took about 3months to regain color and its looking better than ever. Hows yours doing? |
Cool!
Bought mine in 2006’-2007’ Never bleached, Grew to 24”’s then split. I have 4 the same strain. Purple base/ purple brown tentacles and yellow tips. All hosting 5 different pairs of clowns. Have a purple base with fluorescent green tentacles doing good along with a cream/brown with cream tips. Maybe faint purple in there but not bleached. When yours bleached, did it remain the same size? There are two conditions ive seen of bleaching and it appears yours had the mojo to get through. I hate it when they bleach from the edge at one point then the nem gets smaller and turns white but sticky and reactive but maybe no mojo to turn it around. I take it yours stayed the same size and eventually regained its colour? Perhaps a different kind of shock made then react differently too. R |
