Flatworm exit

Has anyone used flatworm exit? Not that I have a lot of flat worms. I noticed a few the other day. Thinking it came in on a clam. I have a sps dominant tank and worried about flatworm exit killing them. I have no fish as I’m fallow right now. Otherwise I would get a 6 line wrasse. Thoughts?

What kind of flatworms do you have?

Reddish brown ones, It isn’t bad. Just saw a couple on a frag plug.

I had the same issue recently, just a handful of red flatworms. Picked up some flatworm exit and used it as directed, except I almost doubled the dose. Worked great, vacuumed out the 10-20 dead flatworms that I saw, popped in some fresh carbon and did a little water change. All my corals and fish were great.

Its best to treat when you have only a few, if your tank becomes overrun the toxins they release when they die can be harmful.

I hear the melanaris wrasse can eat these pests. Unfortunately I’m fallow right now until end of Dec. I picked up the flat worm exit but nervous about using it. Good to hear it worked out for u.

There are many species of flatworm, not all treatable with flatworm exit (or others).

You can buy a treatment and experiment on a few worms in a dish outside your tank.

I've used it successfully on a mixed reef multiple times. Have some water ready for a change, carbon ready to turn on after the FWE kills the FW's, and a fine net or siphon to take out the floaters. The longer you leave them in your tank the more they will degrade and release toxins.

And if you don't notice them releasing off the rocks in the allotted time, hit them with another full dose right away.
