New Refractometer

Hello again!

Just started playing around with my new refractometer and was wondering how you folks clean it? Would tap water and a paper towel work? I don't want to scratch the blue glass where you deposit the water. Would paper towel be too abrasive? Maybe i'm making too much of this! hehe Thanks for your help!

I rinse mine in ro/di water then use the little shamee peice of material that game with it, works great, go down to a leather store they should sell this "shamee" material...

Yeah, I find the included chammy pretty inadequate. hehe How about paper towel? Also, has anyone scratched the glass on their refractometer? Does it render the instrument useless? Throw off the reading? Just curious...

I just clean it under the tap and dry off with a towel, no problems here.

Just to be safe, might as well use a cotton towel instead of a paper towel, less abbrasive.

Cotton towel! Excellent idea! Thanks all for your input!
