I haven't tried to source it locally or online, but I have read you can source it from Dive shops

gregzz4 01-15-2020 09:30 AM

Why are you running a CO2 Unit?

gregzz4 01-15-2020 09:31 AM

It is a new-fangled FAD that is a waste of money ......

I did not run co2. My tank ph is hovering between 7.8-8.02. It's caused by the excessive co2 in my room. I just wanna make a co2 scruber to make the ph a bit higer. I tried to run the skimmer intake to the outside. It did't help mich.

It shouldn't be in dive stores anymore, it was an old school method of scrubbing co2 from rebreathers.

Chemical supply company or lab may be able to order it in for you

Bulk reef supply sells it but because it is so reactive you might have trouble with shipping

Rebreathers still use a co2 scrubber media called Sofnolime. The catch is that unless you are talking with a technical dive shop (Ocean Quest in burnaby. ext) many don't do anything with rebreathers and wont carry they product. Also unless they sell sofnolime by the lb its quite expensive for a keg when you only need a half a lb a month for the scrubber. Calling a couple dive shops in your area wouldn't hurt or sourcing it in small amounts from a place like BRS would work.
