Vertex replacement pump

Ok, peeps
As with a bunch of other people, my pump on my Vertex IN250 packed it in a while ago. I want to get this thing back up and running. Anyone know what pump I can put on it? Google was not my friend on this one...

Read that the bubble blaster is the recommended pump. Think the 3000?

Google told me Bubble blaster 3000 or Laguna/Askoll 1500, with original impeller fitting the Laguna/Askoll.

So a novel idea was proposed to me but one of the sponsors... if I'm willing to possibly pay up to $350 for a pump to fix an old skimmer why not spend that on a Bubble Magus Curve 9.

I never thought of it.

Any thoughts as to the wiser expenditures of funds?

A Bubble Blaster is a better pump and on a Vertex 250 would be a powerful skimmer. The Curve skimmers are very similar design so I see little use in paying for a skimmer body. It's all in the pump. Jmho

I agree with Myka. I went through that routine a couple months ago. Decided to suck it up and stick with my ER RS250 and a replacement pump from reefdynamics. I just couldn't beat the efficiency of the ER with something I was unsure of (besides the ER kicks ass on tank volume ratings). That being said, the genx-6000 pump that used to run on the ER was WAY better than the one they're selling now (Eheim 1262) but it gets the job done.

Ya, after sleeping on it I decided to stay with the devil I know, rather than with the one I don't. Ordered a Reef Octopus RODC 3500s skimmer pump from Ray (Reef Supplies). Hopefully I won't have to play with it too much to make it work.
