Chaeto melting

Anyone know why chaeto suddenly melts away?
nothing else is looking off.
only thing is it's gotten warm suddenly around vancouver so my overall temp is probably swinging 5 degrees C during the day.

are you running any reactors?
What kind of lighting do you have over it?

GFO, Carbon, and Pellets.

And I've had the chaeto for a while as well as these running. Months. So it's not that.

under a PC floodlamp. 6500K.
changed a month ago which improved growth up until 3 days ago.

I've understood that carbon can do detrimental things to chaeto in some cases, another is the positioning of your chaeto where should be at the top, almost exposed - or maybe on some live rock to get going. Another option could be a low dose of iron.

If your curious, try stopping carbon for a week and see if you notice a difference. It's starving for nutrients, and iron depletion in the tank would cause it. And if you have your lights on 24/7, try putting them on a timer for the opposite of your DT light schedule.
