Final upgrade

I was asked to put my final upgrade up here and start a journal. The tank is 560 gals 72X60X30 and is all gorgonians and nps corals. It has been running for about 8 months now. I didn't want big bulky glass euros over my tank so I went with a stainless steel top frame.

I have changed a few things on the tank, removed one of the return pumps and added and moved the power heads a few times to get everything just so. The return pump is a jebao dc12000, There are 4 RW-8's at the top, a mp60 at the back bottom and a WP40 in the front left corner. The flow in this tank has been very challenging to get just right.

It is lite by 3 250 HQI halides, with the minimal rock work I don't need to cover the whole tank with light and the corals don't need a ton of light either.

The sump is 60X34X20, the water flows into a cryptic fuge. Then into a small cheato chamber, then finally threw 4-4" filter socks. After that it goes into the skimmer, which is a reef octopus int-300 and my bio-pellet reactor.

That's a nice tank. I like that a lot.

Wow. You don't see that everyday. I like that a lot too.

That is one really sweet tank! Well done! Thank you for sharing - I'd love to see more pics of the sump and equipment all the goodies. LOVE the big fish!

It doesn't look like you get a lot of algae with those halides and trying to feed the NPS corals. What's your feeding regimen for the NPS corals? What does N and P run at with your biopellets online?

Thank you guys, I feed reef-roids, NLS seafan, ultra seefan by fauna marine and frozen cyclops every day. Then NPS corals get target fed and the rest are just cast fed. As far as my water parameters are concerned, one would have to test to know what they are. I go more on the way my tank looks and how my corals are acting. I do 50 gallon water changes every two weeks. The cryptic fuge seems to plat a huge part in the health of this tank.

And the two biggest tangs are almost 16".

Thanks for the details. :)

Yeah, it's just unfortunate that it takes corals a few days/weeks/months to react to unfavorable water quality.

Yeah, those are nice sized tangs. Did you grow them out yourself?
