SPS in a tank full of shrooms

While back had a crash and lost all my SPS and clams so more or less let my tank go downhill and it became overrun with mushrooms.

Want to start SPS again but wondering if worth trying while still have all the mushrooms.I could keep separation so basically wondering if allelopathy would be be a problem?

Some of these are 4" across.

If you want to get rid of a few mushrooms and softies I will gladly take a few:)
But I have heard it is possible to keep them together but it is a lot more work because they do not have the same requirements.

I was never successful combining the two..but I'm a lazy reefer. It may be possible if you run a lot of carbon and change it religiously. I liked my ricordea better than my sps..so thats what I decided to keep.

It all looks good when you start out. A little patch of shrooms or ricordea here and there, some nice little acros. Then the Rics spread, and the Acros get so big you can't get at the Rics to scrape them off the rock. You end up with Acros with dead bases covered in in Rics.

You certainly have a good opportunity to address the mushrooms now, rather than later. If in doubt, nuke 'em ! If you later you start having troubles with SPS you will always wonder if it's the mushrooms. That is a lot of mushrooms. I have a few patches of blue and red/orange mushrooms in my tank and try to keep them in low populations. You could probably sell them to someone with a FOWLR.
