Many thanks everyone. I hope to video the corals in the next couple of weeks so you can see the colours and health of the corals better.

Hey Sahin, nice to see you on a Canadian board. Welcome to CanReef & congrats.

Nice job there bud! Is that a Mr. Pacman you have there? Did you start him as a frag?

Sahin 05-27-2016 07:03 AM

Thanks all.

Myreefworld yes that's a Pacman. Started from a small frag. It grows at decent speed.

Beautiful tank!
Just wondering if you could elaborate more on your quarantine process or things you do for new corals, as I to just lost everything to AEFW and would like to not have that happen again! Thanks

Hi there. Thank you for the compliment.

With new acros I dip them with TLF Revive. Then they go into QT for a few weeks. In QT they are dipped for at least 3 times if NO AEFW are found. If AEFW's are found, then they are dipped for minimum 8 dipping sessions.

I cut off or cover bases. Its around bases etc that most eggs are found. Getting to the eggs and cutting off parts with eggs, or covering with glue etc is absolutely required. Getting ALL the eggs off will break the life cycle. Then its a matter of dipping and removing the flatworms.

I'm actually experimenting with an in-tank QT process. I wont say more about this now...but once I am happy with the experiment I will make a post on this forum and Reefcentral and share my idea.

Very nice and very simple. No plans for a reef controller?
