3d Printed 20 Gallon fusion rescape
 
got bored of my tank so time to rescape it and spruce things up a little

figured id try something a little different so i drew and 3d printed some skeletons for rock structures

both structures drawn in 3d

they vinyl tube sticking out later got removed to create a tunnel for my eel to hide in

both structures in an "alk bath" to stop the concrete from sucking all the alk out of my system

yes its reef safe material
no i dont care about an of your other concerns
no i wont make them with holes for frags
yes i will make exact copies of the plastic parts if anyone is interested in them


should have the next update of them in the tank next weekend after they're done soaking

That depends on how you wanna look at it lol, materials alone for the printed parts about $10

If you count my time at what I generally bill out at then over $1800

Me and albert have kind of always tried to make the most complex rock structures possible and well, I don’t see any way to get more fancy than this

Once I’m done mine I’m thinking about possibly making “nano reef kits” with all the printed parts to build structures with a few different designs to choose from.

I think that's a great idea. Aquaforest makes a product called stone afix and it has a Portland component to it but if used outside the tank and allowed to dry (15 minutes to be quite strong) it will not effect tank pH.

In regards to making it more complex, you could always make little indexing sections that allow someone to connect them in multiple ways. But I like your organic flow you have designed.
