I had both male and a female. However, both seemed unhappy in even my 400 gallon tank and paced relentlessly between feedings.
Update: Male (pictured) was donated to Vancouver Aquarium after 1 year in the tank. His relentless pacing was wearing away the acrylic! My personal experience with these fish is that they do not adapt well to captivity or reef situations and seem more interested in relentlessly seeking open water. Update: Female remains very healthy at 2 years now. She still paces the tank more than most fish. Update: Female began to hide during the day, coming out for feeding only. Interested in feeding, but struggling to take food. Died after about 1 week. Lived 3 years, 4 months in the tank. Unable to determine cause of death. http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/000_0113.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...s/IMG_1720.jpg |
I had both a male and female..
The male died after roughly 12 months...cause of death is unknown, he was normal, then swimming in weird patterns, then same day=dead. The female is still with us and is perfectly fine...no other fish were lost when the male died...it was odd |
