ReeferMush 5.5 Gallon Nano
Welcome to my first build, i'm finally ready to post some pics and share this thread with my fellow hobbyist. I started this tank in October 2009 and is my first time ever having an aquarium and now I'll don't think I ever stop. I only see my next being bigger and better, but isn't that what it's all about!! Well enough talking lets check it out!

The Equipment
I'm fairly cheap and seeing alot of the cost of things in this hobby are quite expensive, I like to bring to the table the "DYI"
So I just modded my Aquaclear 20 hang'on to fit a home made limewood skimmer and water quality is superb and crystal clear. http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...no/Skimmer.jpg This is a top of a 500ml pop bottle, tubing from a flourescent light guard, a couple of O rings and zip ties, 1/2 inch PVC tubing and of course the limewood airstone. http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...erinHangon.jpg Skimmer in action!! http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...mmateJuice.jpg Here's what it's pulling out....Gross!! http://i840.photobucket.com/albums/z...o/DYILight.jpg And the DYI 50/50 Light fixture |
Looking great! Love the DIY skimmer!
Nice bumblebee shrimp! They are so neat! I hope your mandarin is eating prepared foods? Thanks for sharing! Chris |
