I would love to see a Canadian vendor for Skimz, They have great products and affordably priced. This one might be hard though.

This looks like an interesting skimmer for a nano. JNS WS-1 Water Cyclone. Right now, I think only 1 or 2 stores in North America sells this model. I know AquaMaxx has imported other JNS skimmers and rebranded them but they have not imported the Water Cyclone.

I thought it best came from me, hope you dont mind me jumping on :redface:

Little story here why we dropped them

Warranty! we stopped the main Skimz line due to the pumps and Skimz refusing warranty, but everyone loved the bodies. SO we listened and had the base modified to fit the Sicce pump! Great all was well.

UNTIL we got our next shipment, every single unit was manufactured bad. Skimz reply was classic

"The first shipment was fine so this must be also"

We sent photos, proof, even sent photos of the replacement parts we had to get made. There reply was "Not our issue"

Looking on RC the pump issue seems to be the same and the DC pumps are Jabao from what the reports are.

Sorry this brand wont be coming back through us anyway.

Will you carry the marine pure media that looks like live rocks? The marine pure stuff is the best stuff to use as a live rock replacement, it just looks so blocky in the main display ( i have no sump). Their website shows a "live rock style " media

More skimmers? Really? I remember being a hobbyist and the only skimmers available were tunze and Vertex. There are soooo many more choices today!

@ xlzerolx, we will DEFFINATLY look into this!

You must be young! I remember when we could upgrade from Red Sea Berlin skimmers to PM Bullet skimmers! Or standard dry goods included wooden air diffusers lol

Reading around, that skimmer was popular with the all-in-one nano tank crowd:

I know it is a small sample size as they aren't sold in more than 1 or 2 places. I like the big collector cup which a lot of the nano skimmers don't have. I couldn't find this skimmer from a reputable retailer so I ended up going with the Reef Octopus BH50 which seems nice (arrives later this week) but isn't rectangular shaped so I don't know how it'll look in the corner of my display tank.
