Name that Wrasse
 
I just bought the following fish as a Melanurus wrasse but the colours dont seem right to me. Anyone know they exact ID?

I think it's a Vrolik's if I'm remembering the one I was thinking of

Vrolik's Wrasse

:Halichoeres chrysotaenia, while appearing similar to Halichoeres melanurus, can be differentiated by its spotted caudal fin, whereas H. melanuras has lines on its caudal fin that form a single black spot when compressed:

I checked live aquaria and google but none of the pictures really look like it.

Maybe Dusky wrasse ? Where's Albert ? He will know.

Looks like a male Leopard Wrasse. Possibly Macropharyngodon ornatus

Try google for pics
Try researching the Halichoeres line ....

Remember, not all pics will truly look like your specimen
