huge fire worm?

Hey guys to me this looks like a huge fire worm housed with my pistol shrimp under the rock. If so what do you figure the best way to bait it is? Ive never seen it outside the rock work.

CREEPY!!!! lol. I have almost the exact same size one living with my pistol shrimp. It may just be a big bristle worm though. I've almost got mine a couple times feeding with a set of long handled tweezers right at the mouth of the cave. But they're squirmy little suckers

Watched your video. That worm is big. He's all scrunched up. Wonder how long he is stretched out.
Next video after yours, comes on automatically shows how that guy catches a very long one.
GL with yours.

That is a fire worm and there are a couple of methods to use one of the more common ones is ladies nylon sock with oyster or mussel meat inside. Will come out to feed and bristles will get stuck in the nylon

Then there is a bait box similar to sock except there is a hole near the top

And of course using a tool to grab it

i set up a trap using a long tube capped off at one end and some food at the far end held in by some filter foam. Hopefully it work I cant get the opening real close to him but probably about 4 inches from his rock.

Well 9 months later I finally got him. Pic doesn't show it but he is at least 18 inches stretched out. All traps were ineffective I finally got him this morning as he was stretched out towards the front of my tank towards my zoas. Grabbed him with a large pair of prongs. These things are surprissingly very fast. Not sure if it wad a fire worm might just be a large bristle worm but either way its too big and creepy t leave in the tank. Also left a bunch of bristles in some zoas.
