I have the exact same one that h2o2 posted, an halo par 38 full spectrum from light box

If you're looking for simple, efficient and a good price, PAR 38 is a great choice. If you're looking for customization in terms of spectrum, I recently set up a tank with the new AI Prime LED, and I have to say, for the price, I'm quite impressed. It would be more than enough for a BC8

Like reefmandan said, AI Prime is the way to go if you want great results.

A prime would be overkill for a BC8.

It is by far a superior light compared to a par 38 BUT...they are 229plus tax at most retailers.

You can get a great quality par 38 for 60 bucks on Ebay.

Or you can go with a controllable par 38 like this one for around 100

If you're gonna upgrade tanks down the line, or you just love to spend as much money as possible, an AI prime makes sense. Otherwise, you should seriously consider the other options...

Its all very personal, but if it were me, I would just go with a good quality full spectrum par 38 with on/off capability.
