wicked specemin for your reef @J&L!

2 dwarf golden moral eels! These are the best addition you could ever add to your reef...........I have a picture of my 2 guys on my phone and as the background on my computer...........reef safe, really cool, feed them by hand a couple times a week.

After selling mine a few years ago I have only been able to get my hands on one...........they are excellent as pairs and hand out together.

Wow is that ever cool. How big do they get?

Would it eat a small fish like a Tailspot Blenny or firefish? How big does the tank have to be to house one of these happily?

12 inches full grown

firefish maybe, but not likely as these eels have tiny mouths. only animal I have ever seen them eat is a snail

so its not really reef safe if its going to eat snails and crabs

milano07 07-20-2012 01:20 PM

Is a 50 gallon suitable for it and are they jumpers?

wickedfrags 07-20-2012 01:48 PM

they only eat these animals if you forget to feed them for extended periods...........which I have been known to do. if you feed them a couple times a week they don't hunt.

and I never mentioned crabs, because I learned a long time ago snails and crabs do not mix well....go with one or the other :)

they have been known to escape, but that was never my experience, I had 2 in my 270 for about 4 years and it was not covered....I have one in my 90 now and it is fully open.....they live in liverock and very rarely will you see them out in the open

I have a hard time thinking about what a 50G looks like!!! I would say there is no problem having one......they don't need a lot of space IME.

and FYI, my buddy got one shipped from J&L to Ontario once, no problems, very well shipped and coordinated.
