Time for new bulbs.

It's time for new bulbs. Currently I'm running gleassmens (how ever it's spelled) and like them but $$.. tank is a rsm250 running 1.5 years happpy and stable. I'm and thinking about switching to LED initial up front cost but no need to run chiller anymore and not replacing bulbs every 8 months. I have been looking at modular led retro fit kits.. thoughts??

That is what I am planning on doing with all my new tanks. I am saving up old metal fixtures to use as heat sinks to save a few extra $$ as well. Doing a LED retrofit your self gives you so much more bang for the buck compared to anything but some of the Chinese fixtures. And in some cases i.e. modular led boards they are dead simple and super cheap to repair if something does fail down the road.

My Phoenix 14k is a 16 months old and still run like a champ. All SPS have great color and growing well. I think 8 months is a bit extreme. At least I would go one year.

I did the modular led upgrade on my son's rsm 130d and couldn't be happier. Easy to install, super bright and fully controllable. Highly recommend!
