SPS - burnt tips or new growth?

I've had my tank up for about 4 months now and this little guy has been in my tank for about 4 weeks. I've noticed the tips turning white and wondering how to tell if this is new growth or something else (burnt tips?) ... The water params are all great and the frag is about 18 inches from the lights (AI Hydra LED).

Fresh growth is always whitish in color.

Is it normal for all the tips to be white at the same time ? Is there any way to differentiate between burn or new growth?

Yes, it's normal. If tips are burnt (dead) you'll get algae in a couple days on the tips.

great, thanks !

Could you get a better picture?

Brad's right though, you will get algae on the tips in a couple days if they got burned because when they get burned the flesh actually falls off the tips. IF it is burned tips, the usual suspect is low or fluctuating alkalinity.

what kind of lighting are you using? under intense led direct light I would say its bleaching a bit, T5 I would say growth and all other lighting will be variable.
