Well we have been asked to wholesale a new ATO by Pacific Sun, but before we dive headlong into this I am asking for your input!

Solenoid version would retail for $149.00CAD

Be honest I am not going to counter any critique but please be genuine not just post pointless stuff for the hell of bashing something. Trolls and spammers will be removed

Open to all.

Just to clarify, the package for 149 comes with the solenoid option and the DC pump option?

EDIT: n/m....read it more closely, solenoid model is for direct to RO system top off. Thought it would be a great idea to add a solenoid to auto shut off a malfunctioning pump!

$149 is the solenoid option.

My initial thoughts -

I was under the impression that running an ATO directly from your RODI shortened your membrane due to the short cycling. Perhaps I've been misinformed. The solenoid combined with the 20 sec shutoff should help prevent the nightmare scenario of an RODI run ATO overflowing & lowering your salinity.

As to the pump version, it seems to only have 1 sensor although the article implied it also had a high water shut off. Is there a second sensor I missed in the video? Again the 20 sec system shut down is good, but I like having a second sensor as backup.

So, seems ok. At $150 it's a great price if it has 2 sensors. If it has only 1 its more than the Tunze Nano osmolator (although does have an optical as opposed to a float sensor).

Just my 2 cents. :)

Just simply to answer the questions.

The unit has one sensor but has a fail safe shut off. If the unit sees that the level has not reached on a 20x cycle it will shut down. This I believe keeps the cost down for two sensors

Pros:
No level switches that will fail in short order
Alarm concept

Cons:
Mounting arm for sensor doesn't look like it would work in my sump
I think the sensor is normally submersed in the water, so salt creep and eventual failure.
Alarm can not be configured
Pump doesn't look like it would work for me as my fresh water tank is far from my sump

Instead of solenoid option, I would personally like to see a dry contact rated for 1A @ 120 VAC

Just my 2 cents

Design and sensor concept works well as its mighty similar to my own that I designed (except I have multiple optical sensors).

mine has worked flawlessly so in site it will do the trick

Are you just going to be distributing the ATO or the the whole kore 5th doser? I know the doser which has the ability to be an ato and awc is highly liked on RC.

Aqua-Digital 10-28-2015 03:09 PM

If people want the ATO then we will look at the Kore.
