Pisces has seachem salinity reef salt. The bucket doesn't actually say seachem, it's the aquavitro product if that helps.

11purewater 02-09-2013 11:57 PM

Ah! so thats where it went!thanks:biggrin:Same stuff i'm assuming:neutral:

From what I have read the aquavitro salinity reef salt is more reef specific if that makes any sense. I think checking the seachem Site would be a good idea to compare the two.

Will do!

intarsiabox 02-10-2013 12:20 AM

Seachem Reef salt and Seachem Aquavitro are not the same salt. There is about a $50 difference between the two.

11purewater 02-10-2013 12:25 AM

Apparently It's a more concentrated salt, maybe that's why the higher price.Even though the math doesn't add up IMO.

11purewater 02-10-2013 12:28 AM

BTW anybody prefer this salt?

dnalamb 02-10-2013 02:49 AM

I have had a huge difference since using this salt and only half of a pail used. Corals open and happy like never before. Highly recommend it.

What did you switch from?

dnalamb 02-10-2013 07:37 PM

Was using IO and dosing now no more need to dose levels are great without

11purewater 02-10-2013 08:23 PM

I have a zoanthid dominated tank with a lean towards Hawaiian PE types and I find Seachem salt alone without dosing kept them happy.recently I've been using reef crystals and I find the alk drops off too quickly(3-4 days)Seachem seems to have more buffering stability.

dnalamb 02-10-2013 11:09 PM

My Alk was my major issue before switching now it is stable as can be. Ph used to be constant at 7.9-8.0 now 8.0 morn 8.1 evening but I have a light on reverse on my sump.
